Debutant Usama Credits Wakiso Win On Byekwaso

KCCA FC new Signing Usama Arafat has heaped praise on head coach Morley Byekwaso following their 3-0 victory against Wakiso Giants on Sunday.

Usama, who came on for Julius Poloto in the second half to mark his debut made those remarks after the final whistle of the game.

The former Kajjansi United player was delighted to pick up maximum points in their first league game.

“We played well and we managed to get the three points in our first league outing as well as the opener,” he told the club’s media.

Goals from Sadat Anaku, Ashraf Mugume and another from debutant Davis Kasirye ensured that Byekwaso had a bright start in his first full season as head coach for the Lugogo based side.

He praised the head coach for assembling a good side in their first competitive league game of the 2021/22 UPL season.

“This is a new a team but the manager has done a great job to assemble us, we are fit and played with character. The little that is missing, we shall put them right soon.”

For KCCA, a side that is trophyless for the past two seasons, Usama believes that they can lift the club to where it belongs.

“We call upon our fans to keep supporting us as we start a new era. We want to take this club to the top and also go back to the continent,

Victory ensured that Kasasiro boys went top of the league after match day one, thanks to their good goal margin that puts them ahead of Second placed Mbarara City.

Having had a bright start, Usama together with his colleagues will have to remain consistent if they are to achieve more in this new era at the Lugogo based side.
