BAL Qualifiers: City Oilers 12-man Team To Dar Revealed

All is set for City Oilers trip to Dar Es Salaam for the qualifiers of the 2022 Basketball Africa League.

The team has named a 12-man player squad ahead of their departure on Thursday.

City Oilers will tussle it out with Brave Hearts (Malawi), Kurasani Heat (Tanzania) and New Stars (Burundi) in Group E due October 29-31.

There are about five exclusions from their team that played in the abandoned National Basketball League last season.

There is no Landry Ndikumana in the squad after the Burundian asked to be released.

Kenyan Fidel Okoth Oduor reportedly moved on for Greener pastures while his countrymate Michael Makiadi was released.

Joseph Ikong has joined Nam Blazers while Emmanuel Makuei is not in the squad as well.

US-based big man Jerry Namdi Okonkwo headlines the new additions that also include John Balwigaire and Titus Odeke.

Abdulhakim Ghedi was part of the NBL squad but had not played a single game as he was still in the States.

Youngsters Luak Ruai and John Dombo bolster the squad that also has Jimmy Enabu, Tonny Drilleba, Ivan Muhwezi, Ben Komakech and James Okello.

Oilers will play three group games and will be targeting one of the top two places for an automatic place in the Elite 16 round that will be played in November/December.
