Revita delighted on Return, Eyes National Team Football

KCCA FC defender John Revita has expressed his delight after making a return to active football.

He made the remarks following his side’s 1-0 win over Busoga United on Wednesday, with Sadat Anaku’s goal being the difference on the day.

Almost 21 months without having competitive Football, Revita was for the first time named in KCCA’s starting team as the side registered their third Victory in a row this new season.

He spoke to the club’s media after the final whistle and he had this to say first.

“I’m very happy, all thanks to the Almighty to see that I am alive, to see that I have recovered and I have played this game without getting injured and I’m looking forward to playing more games,” he told the Club’s media.

The pony tail defender has been on the fringes for two seasons nursing a troublesome knee injury that he sustained following a collision with URA FC forward Cromwell Rwothomio. The two sides had met at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje Bombo, in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game, on January 31, 2020.

There on, in June 2020 last year, Revita underwent a successful knee operation and it was hoped he could be back earliest, January 2021. However, that didn’t happen as the defender was out for the 2020/2021 season.

He shed some light during his debilitating spell on the sidelines.

“It has been a long journey from way back when I got injured almost coming to two years, it’s been a difficult journey, the way I have been training, working hard so that I can come back but all thanks to the Almighty that I’m now back with my first game”

And now having made a return, the defender wants to win more with his club and has sights on National team Football again.

“I want to play more games, win trophies for the club and going back to the national team”

Throughout the game on Wednesday against Busoga United, Revita looked more composed, Comfortable on the ball and was the team’s fulcrum building from the back going forward.

Victory ensured that KCCA won their third game in a row this season and moved top of the UPL log with nine points, three ahead of second placed Vipers who have played a game less.

Known for his passing abilities, calmness on the ball, leadership on the pitch, without a doubt, when fully fit, Revita will be vital to Byekwaso’s side that is filled with young and experienced players this season.
