Preview: Vipers Face Stern Test

Comfortable Wins over Police and Wakiso Giants have put Roberto Oliveira’s Vipers in strong contention for this year’s title.

They have lived as advertised so far thanks to the manner in which they have torn down opponents including the Uganda Cup.

However, in Express FC, they face their toughest test to date.

Vipers bosses with the most intimidating attacking armoury of Yunus Sentamu and Caesar Manzoki.

Sentamu has scored eight goals in his last two games (Wakiso and BUL) and has proved to be the hottest cake in the league while his partner Manzoki, thanks to his lanky size and mobility, has been a menace to defenders.

Express shipped in 13 goals last season, the lowest in the 2020/22 campaign, and the side will look to pocket Vipers attackers at Wankulukuku.

Up front, with the return of Kambale, the Red Eagles have the most intelligent player in the league and will hope that he will produce the goods against this season’s team-to-beat.

The Red Eagles beat BUL on match-day three to end a poor start that saw the side lose to Arua Hill and UPDF.

They will be without Head coach Wasswa Bbosa who is serving his last game (ban) but the hosts will bank on home advantage and recent exploits of last season that saw the side pick four points off Vipers.

John Byamukama Tooki scored a beauty as Express beat Vipers at Kitende while the clash at Wankulukuku ended in a 1-1 draw.
