Late James Otim Strike Hands Gaddafi First UPL Win

James Otim scored in added time as newcomers Gaddafi FC beat Bright Stars for their first win of the season.

Off the bench in the 70th minute, Otim benefited from sloppy defending by Bright Stars to pounce home in the 93rd minute.

Bright Stars almost levelled at the death only for Emmanuel Loki to fluff a keeper-to-beat chance.

Its the first win for Gaddafi FC who move to four points from as many games.

The match, played behind closed doors, kicked off at 4:30pm after rain delay.

Bright Stars will rue missed chances after Nelson Ssenkatuka failed to beat Gaddafi FC goalkeeper Eric Mutebi on several occasions including a freeheader that was easily saved by the custodian.

Loki ealier thought he had put Bright Stars a lead at the hour mark but the referee cancelled the goal for a foul on the goalkeeper.

Gaddafi FC saw visitors’ defender Andrew Kyambadde clear off the line while Alex Kitata was denied by goalkeeper Hassan Matovu.
