*Mbarara City 2-1 Arua Hill

Coach Hussein Mbalangu managed to inflict the first UPL loss to his former bosses of Arua Hill on Friday at Kakyeka.

Henry Kitegenyi and Jude Ssemugabi were on target for Mbarara City while substitute Alfred Leku brought one back for Livingston Mbabazi’s Visitors.

Its an important win for Mbalangu who fell out with Arua Hill where he is said to have breached the club’s code of Conduct, and was replaced by Mbabazi.

In a game of few chances, Kitegenyi benefited from a poor back pass after high pressing from Mbarara to open the scores in the 30th minute.

They doubled the advantage at the start of the second half when Steven Othieno’s low pass was slightly deflected by Richard Matovu into the path of Ssemugabi who pounced home the second.

With 15 minutes left, Leku gave the visitors a fighting stance when he was put through by Robert Eseru after he block Mukundane’s shot to strike at the far end of Muhammad’s Sekeba’s goal.

Mbarara City move to six points from three games having opened the season with a 3-1 win against Bright Stars before losing to Tooro United.

Arua Hill remain on four points from three games – They beat Express in the opener before a 0-0 draw with Onduparaka.
