Preview: Vipers Seek To Get Back On Track

Vipers saw their 100% start in the league halted by a draw at Wankulukuku.

It was a game of mixed emotions for the Venoms; It was a good point given the fact that they secured a late point against defending champions but they will feel that the ‘poor’ officiating denied them more given they were denied a clear penalty.

“The match against Express was a tough one like we expected. We had only two days to recover which is not much but the players are well prepared for the next game both physically and mentally.” Vipers assistant coach Marcelo Cardoso is quoted by club website.

“Fortunately all our players are in great condition and hope to get the same physical performance against Onduparaka like we did on Saturday. We know we are going to face a lot of mistakes from ourselves, the opposition and referees throughout the season but hopefully we do not face such mistakes like in the Express game in future.”

They sit five points below leaders KCCA FC but with a game in hand, but they will fancy their chances playing at home.

The Visitors on the other hand, after a goalless draw in the Arua Derby, were beaten 2-0 at home against BUL at home.

The good news is that coach Hamza Lutalo is back after missing the opening games due to Crested Cranes engagements.

But the biggest subplot is their striker Shaban Muhammad who will be facing former side.
