FUFA Referees disciplinary panel has suspended referee Bakasambe Rajab for his poor Officiating during the Express and Vipers stalemate that was held last weekend on 30th Oct, 2021 at Wankulukuku Stadium.
With the game 1-1 in the the 36th minute of the game, Express FC left back Arthur Kiggundu handled the ball in the area to deny Yunus Sentamu’s goal bound effort.
And for Bakasembe, who was not in a right refereeing position did not take any action and just waved for a corner kick.
Following the assessor’s report from the above incident, the disciplinary panel has found it important to take action against the referee for his failure to recognise a sanction of denying a goal, thus not awarding a penalty and not rewarding a red card to the player.
As a result, Bakasembe has now been suspended for three weeks from football officiating of the Uganda Premier League effective immediately as of 2nd November 2021, that is six match days from match day 7 to match day 12.
Further more, the letter from the Federation has it that should Bakasambe Rajab not heed to the sanction above, the referee disciplinary panel shall take more stringent actions against him.
The Federation has also authorised UPL to sanction Express FC’s Kiggundu as per the rules and Regulations of of the FUFA Competitions Rules and Regulations.
Bakasembe now becomes another referee this season to be suspended after Ronald Kirangwa was also suspended in Vipers riot against Wakiso Giants weeks ago.
With the absence of Video assistant referee technology in our leagues, much more cases are anticipated with more games to come.
