FUFA Postpones Kickoff of Women Leagues

The Federation of Uganda Football Association has pushed the kickoff of both the Fufa Women Super League and Women Elite League until next year.

According to the circular written by FUFA Competitions Director Hajjat Aisha Nalule, the leagues that were meant to kickoff on 14th October and 21st respectively have been rescheduled to 4th and 12th February 2022.

The changes come due to the ongoing CECAFA U20 tournament at Njeru, U20 Women World Cup Qualifiers in December and CECAFA Women Challenge Cup for the Crested Crane in December.

Lady Doves were crowned The FUFA Women’s Super League Champions after edging UCU lady Cardinals 2-1 in the final at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

In the FUFA Women Elite League She Maroons defeated Rines WFC to the title but the two finalists were promoted to the top tier Women’s league.

Makerere University and Isra Soccer Academy were relegated to the second division after finishing bottom of their respective groups.
