Northern Region Select 1-3 Uganda Cranes

Uganda Cranes registered a 3-1 victory over Northern region select team in the regional tour game played on Thursday at the Boma playground in Kitgum.

Goals from Ibrahim Orit, Mato Rogers and Shafik Kagimu handed Micho’s men Victory on the day.

Brian Obedi scored the only goal as the Northern Region Select side lost on the evening.

The opening exchanges of the game, saw limited chances from Micho’s men as they tried to settle into the game.

However, in the 29th minute, Orit broke the deadlock after collecting from inform KCCA forward Davis Kasirye to put the Cranes ahead.

The Cranes could have scored more before the interval but missed on various occasions. First Milton Karisa shot wide while outside the area, Orit had his saved for a corner before Steven Mukwala had his header kiss the cross bar.

In the second half, Micho named a different team in a bid to assess and give Other players more game time.

The changes paid off as the team scored two more goals to put the game beyond the Northern Region Select’s reach.

KCCA FC forward Mato doubled his side’s lead in the 55th minute before Kagimu made it three on the day.

On the other side, Brian Obedi pulled one for the Northern Region Select team scoring from the spot, but his goal only proved to be a consolation.

Micho will pick some positives given the fact that his scored three goals on the day.

This game was used to fine tune the team as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers where Uganda will face Kenya (home) and Mali (away) this month.
