Bogere Delighted After Tooro Win, Wants More After the Break

Busoga United head coach Abbey Kikomeko Bogere expressed his delight following his side’s 3-1 Victory against Tooro United on Friday.

A brace from assistant captain Anwar Ntege and one goal from Shaka Ssozi ensured that Busoga United picked all the three points at the Buhinga Stadium, in the Tourism City of Fort Portal.

Having won on the day after two losses in their previous games, Bogere was quick to express his delight after the game.

“I feel so happy after losing the last two games consecutively and we got an away win all the way from Fortportal which wasn’t easy,” Bogere told the pressmen.

He added: “The journey was long, the state of the pitch wasn’t that good but we struggled and got maximum points.”

Busoga United had lost to KCCA and Wakiso and a win away from home was a big boost ahead of the break. They had beaten Gaddafi in opener.

Up next for the Jinja based side will be a home game at Njeru as they host Soltilo Bright Stars on 20th November next week.

And for Bogere, he says they will use this time to correct a few mistakes and come back stronger.

“We shall have rectified a few mistakes, some of our players will get license and as well have some resting time to win more games to avoid relegation struggles.”

Victory ensured that Busoga United moved to the seventh position with six points after their opening four games.

Last season, Bogere’s side nearly survived relegation as they finished on 26 points, three above Kyetume FC that was eventually relegated after the league was halted due to the Second wave of Covid-19.

And now having collected six points out of the possible 12 in their opening four games, Kikomeko’s charges will be hoping for better results when the league returns after the international break to avoid an early relegation scare.
