Black Pirates managed to overcome Heathens to win Rujumba 7s and claim their maiden circuit of the ongoing National Sevens.
Pirates had come close in the previous three circuits but lived to the billing in a two-day event hosted at their own Kings Park in Bweyogerere.
They beat Pacers 52-00, Sailors 42-00 and Warriors 24-00 on Saturday to top Pool C and reach the knockout.
They then eliminated Rhinos 31-00 in the quarters to set up a gigantic clash with defending champions Betway KOBs in the semis who had win the opening three circuits.
Pirates edged KOBs 21-14 in the semis to march on to the final to meet Heathens who ousted Hippos in the other semi.
Timothy Kisiga scored a brace and Conrad Wanyama added the other Try as Pirates outscored Heathens in an epic final.
The win takes them to 77 points, six adrift of leaders KOBs with two circuits remaining on the National Sevens Calendar.
KOBs beat Hippos 21-05 in the bronze medal match while Buffaloes eased past Rhinos 22-00 to claim fifth spot.
