Diamonds in the Sun shocked number One seed to take game one at the ongoing Division One playoffs.

Rezlife finished the regular season on top of the standings with a 12-2 record but are now one loss away from bowing out in a best of three series.

In their game one on Sunday at Nakasero, they were on course for a comfortable win when they led the first quarter 10-3 before squandering an early lead.

Diamonds in the Sun cut the deficit to three points at halftime, led by 7 after the third quarter before winning the eight-point tie to draw first blood.

Gideon Kasasa posted 12 points for the Rez life Saints but his effort was not enough as Ian Lubwama’s 22 points lifted eighth seed Diamonds in the Sun to victory.

Its the third loss for Rez Life this season having fallen to Nkumba Marines and Bush Court in the regular season.

They had won six on the trot since regular season resumed after a Covid19 break, including beating Diamonds in the Sun 59-50 on October 30, to end the regular season on a high.

The side will look to make amends in a crucial Game two at Nakasero next weekend.

In other games, Tropical Royals secured an easy win against the Entebbe Archers in Game one thanks to huge contribution from Juma Osman who had 23 points.

Number two seed Kampala Rockets also beat
Gulu Hawks while Our Saviour eased past Knight Riders.

In Division Two, Livingstone proved handful for Kings Basketball Club 83:63. Okot Bismark scored 21 points for Livingstone.

Emperors Basketball Club won their game against the JKL Junior men Dolphins. JKL led with 10 points difference in the 2nd quarter but the Emperors kept the chase to overturn the lead and win 59:52. Sermon Oola posted 23 points for the Emperors.

Governors Basketball utilized their high shooting percentage to secure a win against Watoto men. The 1st quarter that ended with just a 3-point difference between Governors and Watoto soon grew to 10 by the end of the 2nd quarter and was maintained by the Governors. Godwin Moshirooli had 13 points for the Governors.

Miracle Eagles beat Berkley Basketball Club in the other game.
