Magogo Speaks Out On Misunderstandings With SC Villa Trustees

FUFA Boss Moses Magogo, an ardent Villa fan, has watered down talks of misunderstandings within the hierarchy of Villa.

This he said while appearing on the NBS The Score Sports show that airs out every Sunday at 10pm.

Magogo is said to have fallen out with Villa Trustees regarding the leadership and direction of the record 16-time league winners.

When asked about the matter, Magogo said that they only have differences in opinions with the club founders.

“There are no divisions in the club, it is just a difference in opinion and Ugandans need to understand this,” Magogo stated.

“We can disagree in terms of of opinions and for I am an opinion-oriented person.

In August this year, the club’s Presidential Elections were called off following a court order.

As a result, the Federation left out SC Villa in the released UPL Fixture citing that the club had not met Licencing requirements, mainly the governance.

In a turn of events, Omar Ahmed Mandela announced his Presidential bid last Monday, and has since been confirmed as the only successful candidate after the closure of nominations.

Farouk Mewya had picked nomination forms but returned incomplete forms to all but confim that Mandela is the new SC Villa president.

Magogo’s earlier motive, he says, was to turn Villa into a Community Club and he still insists that the club needs to engage the fans as well and as well adjust to modern way of doing things.

He added: “Allow fans have a say in an organised way such that they belong to the club. For me if we get that and keep the passion of the fans together, no body has a doubt we shall reap gold.”

“The only thing is that football has changed a little bit, the way it was then and now. If you are going to fit in, you have to adjust to the modern game, be at the leadership, have functional units at the club then we will be good to go.”

In his final remarks Magogo said that he will continue supporting “my club, I love SC Villa when we win I am happy, and when we loose I feel so bad. This is our club Managements will come and go but this remains our club.”
