Big League: Ndejje University Overcome Calvary

Samuel Nsubuga and Reagan Mpande scored either side of halftime gave Ndejje University their first win of the season against Calvary FC at the Arena of Visions in the 2021/22 FUFA Big League.

Ndejje University are up and running after losing the opener against MYDA while its the first loss for Calvary who shared spoils in their opener with Maroons.

Ndejje were good value for the result and had the best chances; Nsaale Wasswa failed to beat the Goalkeeper twice before Nsubuga opened the scores.

Nsubuga bundled home after a nice interplay with Nicholas Luzige.

And Peter Ouma almost doubled the lead for the home side but his header was punched away by the Goalkeeper Ssali Madanda.

Substitute Adriko Nasir who came on for Kilama Dickens Victor had a chance to equalise for the Visitors after beating his marker but fluffed his chance while Choka Julius’s shot was blocked by Ayebare.

Reagan Mpande doubled the hosts’ lead when he recieved from Jimmy Nsaale Wasswa.

And Ndejje Goalkeeper Wokorach Jeans Braddy denied Calvary a chance to halve the deficit thanks to a good save to keep out Owiny Ronald Ogenga’s freekick.

What next for both sides – Ndejje University will return to action on Thursday next week away to Maroons at the Luzira prisons ground while Calvary FC will welcome Nyamityobora at the Greenlight Stadium.
