Deng Geu: Silverbacks Forward Joins Texas Legends

Uganda’s Deng Geu has signed for NBA G League side Texas Legends, the club has announced.

The development sees Geu reunite with Silverbacks coach George Galanopoulos at the team after the duo helped Uganda finish sixth at the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket in Kigali.

The 6″9 foot forward, was released by his former team SC Rasta Vechta in Germany.

Deng spent three seasons at North Dakota State before entering the transfer portal to University of North Texas.

He has also played for the Horsens IC in Denmark during his rookie year where he averaged 12.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the 39 games played.

In a statement released by the Texas Legends, Press Release, Deng Geu is expected to be readily available for his debut game in Memphis on Tuesday and Thursday.

Geu is part of Uganda’s squad for the upcoming first window of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Benguela, Angola later this month.
