John Kariitwa – The New Mr Uganda

John Karitwa emerged as the winner of the 2021 Mr. Uganda competition.

Over 50 participants took part in a Body Building and Fitness Association Championship hosted at Power Horse fitness center in Muyenga.

The competition started with contest in the six weight categories of Bantam, Light, Welter, Middle, Light heavy and Heavy weight.

The respective winners of those categories then progressed to the final round in search for Mr.Uganda 2021.

At this stage, Axum Kisekka, Lameck Muwanga, Lubega Godfrey, Kalule Ronald, John Karitwa and Edward Owach were the last men standing.

After quality displays in all four examinable tasks of abdominal and legs; front double biceps, side chest and most muscular pose, John Karitwa emerged victor.

“It hasnt been an easy journey to this victory, sometimes I feel discouraged but i push myself forward for greater hights,” Karitwa stated.

“While preparing, we need a lot of proteins but they are expensive and thats the main challenge.”

Karitwa who replaces Isaac Mubikirwa as the most coveted Ugandan body builder plans to build on this result to conquer the world.

“I now shift my focus to International engagements and I will start with representing Uganda in Mombasa Kenya in Mr 001 championships where I have already registered.”

Uganda body building and fitness association plans to use the best athletes at several championships including one in Kenya next month.

There were also displays from athletes with disability as the sport proved its one of the most inclusive.
