Preview: Police In Search for First Win

Police will be going for their first win of the season when they host Mbarara City on Matchday seven at Lugogo.

Police who lost to Vipers in their league opener, are yet to pick a point this season after defeats against BUL, Wakiso Giants, SC Villa, Express and Onduparaka.

“We are well prepared for the game. I am very impressed with the spirit of my players. There has always been that saying that they are not motivated financially. But they feel they have to put up some good performances on Friday,” said Police coach Abdallah Mubiru.

“God willing we will pick our first points.”

Police were close to picking their first point of the season in their last game against Onduparaka only to conceded a 95th goal in a game in which Yusuf Ssozi was sent off.

Mubiru blamed poor officiating for the loss and has called on FUFA to put their house in order.

“There have been games were officiating has been terrible, and I am only pleading that things change,” Mubiru added.

“We (coaches) are always being charged for saying the truth. Whenever we talk about it (poor officiating), they say that we are putting the game into disrepute.”

The visitors on the other hand, have collected six points from as many games. They have lost their last three games – Falling to BUL, UPDF and Vipers.

Defender Hassan Muhamood scored a hat-trick as Police beat Mbarara 3-1 at Lugogo last season.

Henry Kitegenyi scored the only goal as Mbarara beat Police 1-0 at Kakyeka.
