Nelson Senkatuka scored the all important goal as his side edged Tooro United to register their maiden Victory this season.

The foward scored from the spot at the stroke of half time to see his get off the mark this Season while at home in Kavumba.

Coming into this game, the Stars were winless in their five opening Fixtures of the season, losing three and drawn two in the process.

Back at home against a Tooro United side that has also had a poor start into the season, Bright Stars started the better and had the biggest Lions share of the ball.

However, despite their dominance, they had to wait till the 40 minute to break the deadlock through Ssenkatuka, who scored from a spot after defender Andrew Kyambadde was brought down in the forbidden area by Gerrard Lubanjwa.

Ssenkatuka took his tally to three goals this season.

In a bid to kill off the game, Bright Stars missed on various occassions and could have scored more.

Ssenkatuka saw his effort go wide after Joseph Janjali had set him up, Emmanuel Loki headed wide off Marvin Youngman’s cross before Kasinde headed wide off Odong’s cross.

“I am very happy for the boys for the passion and determination they have shown in the entire 90 minutes and am very happy that we have got our first win at home, the first in the season. It will motivate is us in the next games ahead,” Bright Stars head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa said after the game.

Mugerwa will pick some positives from the win given the fact that his side didn’t concede for the second time and kept another Clean sheet in the season.

Victory saw Bright Stars move to five points after six league games played ( W1, D2, L3).

For Tooro United, they suffer their fifth loss of the season after seven games played and remain on four points. (W1, D1, L5)

What Next- Bright Stars will be away to Wakiso Giants next week on Tuesday while Tooro United host UPDF on the same day at Buhinga Stadium in Fortportal Tourism City.
