Juliet Nalukenge has joined the U20 Women’s National Team that is preparing for the upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualification game against South Africa next month.
The Cyprus based player joined the team on Saturday and on her return she scored a brace as the U20 team beat UCU Lady Cardinals 5-0 in a build up game held at Mukono on Saturday. The other three goals were scored by Fauzia Najjemba (brace) and Aisha Nantongo.
Nalukenge missed out on the recent CECAFA Women’s Championship that was held at Njeru as she had to report back to club duties in Cyprus.
Last month, the forward was a key member for both the Crested Cranes team and the U20 and her return is a big boost the Ayub Khalifan coached side.
The other player that joined the team on Saturday is Kampala Queens WFC Lillian Mutuzo as the team gears up for the upcoming contest.
Ayub Khalifa charges are in preparations for the upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier game where they will take on South Africa on 3rd December at home with the return leg coming between 16th-17th December 2021.
To reach this far, the U20 team beat Kenya 10-3 on aggregate in a double header tie held last month in October.
Earlier last week on Tuesday, the team had another build up game as they lost 2-1 to She Corporates at Lugogo.
Currently, the team is in camp at the Cranes Paradise hotel in Kisaasi and have their weekly training sessions at the Mtn Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
With the days fast approaching to the contest, Ayub Khalifan will be hoping to have a fully fit squad to get the job done against South Africa.
