Preview: Red Eagles Besiege Arua City

After opening two league defeats against Arua Hill and UPDF FC, defending champions Express FC look like they have turned a corner.

Wasswa Bbosa’s charges have since collected 11 points from available 14 – Won three and drawn two.

They visit Onduparaka FC on the back of their 1-0 against Wakiso Giants which was the club’s first home game this season.

Eric Kambale got on the scoresheet and this will give the forward some motivation after a quiet start to the season.

Express coach Bossa is quoted by the club media: “We have prepared very well for this game, we respect Onduparaka but we are here to ensure we get maximum points. A couple of our players are not available due to injuries but we believe we have other players who will fill the void and do a good job.”

The hosts on the other hand have one win (against bottom side Police) to show in their last five league games and it’s this form that has seen this club drop to ninth on the 16-team log.

“I dundertand we lost our last game,” Onduparaka coach George Lutalo in reference to the loss against Villa in Njeru. “But we are trying our best to have a good game tomorrow. I am not worried and my players are ready to give their best.”

Mathias Muwanga who helped Express win the league title last season will be in goal for Onduparaka hoping to frustrate his former bosses.

Kabon Living scored an equaliser after Frank Kalanda had put the Red Eagles in the lead last season in Arua.

Express has won once, drawn thrice and lost once in their away league visits at Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
