FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has suspended and fined Onduparaka Captain Rashid Okocha for his ‘unsporting behavior’ exhibited in their game against SC Villa at Njeru last weekend.
The new developments were confirmed by the Competitions Disciplinary panel on Tuesday afternoon this week.
It is said that during a Uganda Premier League game as Onduparaka lost 2-1 to SC Villa last week on Saturday at Njeru, Okocha showcased violent manners as he attacked the centre referee after being sent off for a foul on Villa midfielder Travis Mutyaba.
After being shown matching orders, the player refused to get off the field of play, removed his shirt and thus this his actions delayed the restart of the game.
As a result, Okocha has been suspended from all football activities effective immediately as of 30th November 2021 until 18th December 2021.
Furthermore, the player has also been fined UGX 500,000 (Uganda Shillings Five Hundred Thousand) to be paid into the FUFA ACCOUNT ACCOUNT NO.7210000969 ECO BANK NDEEBA. The above fine is to be paid by 18th December 2021. Failure to pay shall lead to automatic suspension until the fine is paid in full.
With the new developments, Okocha is expected to start his suspension as his side welcome defending Champions Express FC on Tuesday 30th November at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.
