Preview: Wakiso Giants seek to bounce back against reviving Bright Stars.
Wakiso Giants will be seeking a return to winning ways when they host a reviving Bright Stars on Tuesday at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakissha
The Giants, who had won four consecutive league games, were stopped by Express FC at Wankulukuku as they lost 1-0 last week on Friday.
They host Bright Stars side that picked their first win of the season against Tooro United last week.
Another big factor in this tie is that Wakiso Giants have never beaten the Japanese owned club in their four league meetings. (L1, D3)
Ahead of the contest, Purple Sharks head coach Alex Gitta is optimistic his side will get the needed result despite loosing to Express in the previous league outing.
“What happened in our previous game against Express is now behind us. We set out to get all points in November but so far lost three but have a chance to get at least nine if we win tomorrow. The players’ attitudes are fine and we believe we can get three points against a tough side that is desperate for points as well,” Gitta stated.
Exciting Midfielder Tito Sematimba, who already has four goals to his name will once again be tasked to lighten up his side against Bright Stars.
Meanwhile on the other hand, the Visitors come a revamped side having picked their first win of the season against Tooro United at Kavumba, thanks to Nelson Senkatuka penalty.
Records are on their side as they have never lost to the Giants in their last four league meetings. (D3, W1).
“We have prepared well for this game. It is another challenge ahead of us to get the three points. From the previous games, we had a good game and missed various chances in the final third as we scored only one goal,” Bright Stars coach Simon Mugerwa said ahead of the game.
He added: “But we have rectified on that, we want to build on that win and scored more goals and as well get our second win in the season.”
Mugerwa’s charges will build on the fact that they picked their maiden win of the season in the previous encounter against Tooro United and didn’t concede for the second time.
Senkatuka, who has three goals to his name this season will once again be tasked to lift up his side if they are to pick any positve result in the Wakiso Derby.
This will be 5th league meeting against Soltilo Bright Stars. The previous four have ended in 3 draws and one win in favour of Bright Stars.
