Vipers SC returned to winning ways after their 3-1 victory against Gaddafi in a league game held at the Gaddafi Arena on Wednesday.

First half goals from Milton Karisa, who scored a brace and another from Bright Anukani ensured that the Venoms picked maximum points away from home.

Defender Jamaldin Karenzi Buchochera scored the only goal for the Soldier Boyz as they suffered defeat at home.

Coming into this fixture, Robertinho Oliveira’s charges had lost to URA at home in the previous game and they did just enough to get the job done in Jinja.

The opening exchanges saw a closely contested affair as both teams tried to settle into the game.

The Visitors scared first but Otim James header just hit the cross bar.

Finally in the 32nd minute, Karisa broke the deadlock as he raced on Ceaser Manzoki’s header to slot in home past an onrushing Gaddafi goalkeeper Mutebi Ronald.

However the lead didn’t last for long as the hosts levelled matter six minutes through Buchochera who tapped in home off Hassan Musana’s well delivered corner.

There on, Vipers showed composure, launched various attacks and it wasn’t a surprise they scored two quick goals in a space of four minutes.

In the 40th minute, Karisa doubled his side’s capitalising from a poor defending by Gaddafi’s Sibira Yunusu to slot in home. Three minutes later, Anukani made it three scoring from a free kick to put his side two goals ahead before the interval. His goal was his first in Vipers colours.

The Venoms could have scored more before half time but missed on various occassions. Paul Mucureezi headed wide off Disan Galiwango corner before Karisa shot wide when infront of goal.

For the hosts, they had two penalty calls after Paul willa and captain Halird seemed to have handled in the area on two occasions.

At the restart of the second stanza, Mucuurezi could have made it four but he shot straight to the goalkeeper when through on goal.

There on, Vipers maintained the possession and could have killed off the game with more goals.

Bobosi Byaruhanga saw his effort go inches when outside the area, Manzoki headed wide off a well delivered cross from Disan Galiwango before Anukani missed with just a keeper to beat.

For the hosts, their only best chance fell to Alex Kitata, but the forward shot wide when inside the area to sum up a disappointing evening for Peter Onen’s men.

Victory saw Vipers move back to the second place with 16 points, six points below leaders who won 3-0 on the same day against Bul FC.

For Gaddafi, they suffer their third loss in their maiden top flight league experience and remain on 9 points after eight games played.

What Next- Vipers will host KCCA FC on Sunday 5th December at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende while Gaddafi will take a trip to Lugogo as they face Police FC next week on Tuesday.
