Preview: Express Losing Sight On Early Pace Setters
Express FC will seek to move into the high echelons of the log when they host Mbarara City as Match-day nine of the Uganda Premier League continues on Tuesday.
The defending champions find themselves in seventh place, 11 points adrift of league leaders and pace Setters KCCA FC.
Wasswa Bbosa is well aware of the task ahead this season but he must win such home games if they are to have a chance of defending their league title.
The Red Eagles find themselves in a deep hole after a poor start that saw them lose their two opening games but have not done bad in recent games.
In fact, they are unbeaten in their last six league games.
However, they have dropped six points during those six games!
There is no room for error and the fans will not settle for anything below a comfortable win at Wankulukuku.
Mbarara City have blown hot and cold this season but sit just two points below Express. Meaning, the Ankole Lions can end the day above the defending Champions if they leave Wankulukuku unscathed.
A win at Wankulukuku is a big ask for Mbarara City who have not scored a league goal on the road this season!
But they come into the game with two straight clean sheets (against Villa and Police) and Martin Elungat may be forced to replicate such performances once again.
Mbarara City bank on the fact that they have only lost once in their last four visits at Wankulukuku.
Henry Kitegenyi canceled out Martin Kizza’s opener as Mbarara City salvaged a point at Wankulukuku last season.
