Forward Yunus Sentamu was on target as Vipers registered a 4-1 win over Busoga United in a league game held at the FUFA Technical centre in Njeru on Saturday.

Sentamu, who had missed the last league games due to injury, scored in the 14th minute to cancel out Ntege Anwaru’s strike who had scored first for Busoga United.

Ibrahim Orit, Caesar Manzoki and Aziz Kayondo scored the other three goals for the Venoms as they collected maximum points at Njeru.

The hosts earned a perfect start through Ntege, who scored from the spot after Livingstone Mulondo handled the ball in the forbidden area.

However, despite going a goal down, Vipers showed composure, made endless attacks and it paid off with two quick goals in a space of four minutes.

In the 14th minute, Sentamu levelled matters, scoring from direct free kick to put Venoms back into the contest.

Four minutes later, Orit doubled his side’s lead, heading in home off a well delivered corner from Bright Anukani.

There on in an end to end affair, Vipers had the best chances to score more but missed a couple. Left back Kayondo headed wide when in-front of goal before Bright Anukani saw his effort from a free kick go wide.

However in the 38th minute, Vipers will have their goal keeper Fabien Mutombora to thank after he made a timely save to deny goal scorer Ntege Anwaru.

At the restart of the second half, Vipers continued with their search for more goals and it didn’t take them ages to get another; Manzoki made it three in the 52nd minute.

Eight minutes later, Kayondo made it four, scoring from a rebound after Bright Anukani’s initial effort was parried into his path.

Vipers who were dorminant on the day could have scored more but again wasted chances again: Substitute Paul Mucuurezi saw his effort go wide when infront of goal before Yunus Sentamu missed with just a tap in off Mucuurezi’s well laid ball.

Victory saw Vipers move to the second position with 20 points, level with Bul FC but with a better goal difference. (W6, D2, L1). The Venoms are now six points below leaders KCCA FC, but with a game in hand.

For Busoga United, they suffer their sixth loss in the season and remain on just seven points collected from nine games. (W2, D1, L6).

What Next- Vipers will host Tooro United next week on Saturday 18th December while Busoga United will take a trip to Lugogo as they face Police FC on the same day.
