Titus Ssematimba scored the all important goal to earn Wakiso Giants all the three points against UPDF in Wakissha.

On-form Midfielder Ssematimba scored from the spot in the 12th minute after a handball by UPDF defender Bernard Muwanga in the box.

Ssematimba, playing in his first season in the Uganda Premier League, has now taken his tally to five goals.

The former Buddu player had missed a recent games for Wakiso Giants but returned with a bag to help his side edge UPDF FC.

Rahmat Ssenfuka would have doubled the hosts’ lead but his header was deflected and the Purple Sharks held on for a hard fought win.

This is UPDF second loss in six games after winning three games on the bounce since losing to KCCA.

Wakiso Giants move above UPDF in the 4th spot with 19 points in 10 matches while the Army side slips to 5th with 17 points.

What next – Wakiso Giants will take a trip to face Mbarara City on Friday 17th at Kakyeka stadium while UPDF will travel to westnile to face Arua Hill at the Barifa Stadium on Saturday 18th
