We are going to win the Masaza Cup – Bulemeezi Assistant Captain Ssesazi

Bulemeezi assistant captain Ssesazi Sulaiman Oscar has vowed to take this year’s Masaza Cup trophy back home.

The Midfielder, who scored a brace as Bulemeezi got off the mark with a 3-0 win over Kooki, made the remarks after the final whistle in their opener on Tuesday.

Speaking to the pressmen after the game, Ssesazi expressed the team’s readiness and promised the fans that they have eyes on the big prize.

“I’m happy for scoring a brace in this game. In our camp we are ready, motivated and we are going to work to win our next game and we promise our fans we are going to take the trophy,” Sessazi stated.

“We work hard and we know our coach Simon Peter Mugerwa, he understands us and prepares us well in training and everything is good in our camp.”

For the past years, the Masaza Cup tournament has brought up many youngsters with some joining the top Ugandan league and some go professional.

And for Ssesazi, he has sights on putting up a good show so that he can get a breakthrough as well.

“The tournament is very good because many players have come from Masaza and joined Uganda Premier league teams, others go professional, so even us we want to put up a good show so that people can recognize our talents.”

Victory ensured that Bulemeezi went on top of the Butikiro group with three points, level with Mawokota but with a better goal difference.

Next on Bulemeezi’s menu will be a game against Mawokota in their second match game on Thursday.

Last edition, Bulemeezi finished fourth after loosing to Busiro in the third playoffs on penalties and they will bank on their records given the fact they have won this prestigious competition on two occasions, coming in 2012 and 2019.
