Preview: On-form Bul welcome Struggling Stars

On-form Uganda Premier League side Bul FC will host struggling Bright Stars in a league game on Friday at Bugembe.

The Jinja based side have had a bright start into this new season, winning six out of the nine games played and are currently second on the log with 20 points.

Playing at home, they will be targeting another maximum points against a struggling side in Bright Stars, that are yet to live to their best.

Ahead of the game, head coach Alex Isabirye still insists that they want to compete this season.

“The game will not be easy. We lost to Bright Stars 1-0 last season so I am expecting another battle tomorrow. I always tell you that we are trying to compete this season not just participating. Therefore, I am expecting the team to win because we really need those three points.“

A win against Bright Stars will see Bul temporarily move back to the second position on 23 points, three points behind leaders KCCA who will play on Saturday.

On the other hand, the visitors are still in search of a winning momentum.

In their opening nine games, Bright Stars have only picked one win at home and are yet to register any away from home and are currently third from the bottom with only six points.

Under Simon Peter Mugerwa who replaced Baker Mbowa, they are yet to live to their best and are still struggling to get the needed results.

Against Bul FC, they face a side that has been on form and are eyeing another three points on the road.

However, despite Bul’s hot form, head coach Simon Mugerwa is optimistic they pick a needed result away from home.

“They are on form but we are highly motivated from the performance we had in our last games even though we didn’t win. We want to fight and get our first win away from home. We have continued to work on our scoring and how to convert more chances and hopefully tomorrow we will score goals.

Bright Stars will bank on that fact they beat the same side by 1-0 at the same Venue last season.
