Eric Kambale scored the all important goal to help Express FC overcome Gaddafi FC in a league game at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
The forward floated into the air to head home a lofty Sadiq Ssekyembe corner kick in the 40th minute.
Express FC were slightly the better side and could have won comfortably if they put away their chances.
Godfrey Lwesibawa missed a glorious opportunity when he skewed a neat low pass from Kambale over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
And Charles Musiige fluffed a keeper-to-beat chance when he was put through on goal by George Ssenkaaba only for his effort to crawl past Goalkeeper Ronald Mutebi and just wide of the goal frame.
Gaddafi FC were solid at the back but failed to ask Express questions in the final third. But they opened up in the closing stages when Amos Kirya, Alex Kitata and Ronald Bithum were introduced on.
It’s the fifth win for the Red Eagles and they move to 19 points after 11 games.
Gaddafi FC remain on 13 points having suffered their fourth loss of the season.
