•Bright Stars 0-1 Vipers SC
•Tooro United 1-3 Police FC
•Gaddafi FC 2-2 Onduparaka

Vipers crawled past Bright Stars in a closely contested Uganda Premier League affair at a muddy Kavumba Recreation ground.

Yunus Sentamu scored the only goal of the game but Bright Stars goalkeeper Simon Tamale will feel hard done to end on a losing side after an outstanding performance.

Tamale saved Caesar Manzoki’s penalty and kept out a low effort from Milton Karisa later on among other saves on the day.

Tamale was named the player of the match, his successive accolade after against BUL where he also saved Richard Wandyaka’s penalty in the 38th minute.

The Young goalkeeper has now saved three penalties in five games!

Bright Stars played the entire second half with a man down after youngster Ivan Irinimbabazi was sent off in the 44th minute.

The result puts pressure on KCCA FC as Vipers move to just a point adrift of the leaders who host defending champions Express at Lugogo on Wednesday.

Ivan Irinimbabazi was sent off just on his second league match!

Sentamu gave Vipers a deserved lead in the seventh minute – The striker was at the end of a poorly shot Bobosi Byaruhanga effort to bundle home the opener.

And Vipers missed a couple thereafter including Manzoki who failed to beat Tamale when he received a long ball from Bright Anukani.

Irinimbabazi was later sent off in the 44th minute for his second yellow card offence as a result of a reckless kick in Paul Willa’s chest.

Irinimbabazi was earlier booked in the 30th minute before he received matching orders 14 minutes later.

Vipers flurry of attacks were later awarded in the second half when Yunus who after playing a quick one-two with Karisa was brought down by Allan Katwe just before the hour-mark.

But Tamale rightly dived to his right to keep out Manzoki’s penalty.

Joseph Janjali almost rescued the hosts but his attempt, after Fabien Mutombora poorly punched out Kaggwa’s freekick, went over the bar in the 90th minute.

Bright Stars drops into the drop zone with 7 points after falling for the sixth time this season.

What Next – Bright Stars visit Police on December 29 at Lugogo while Vipers host UPDF FC on December 27 at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
