KCCA FC played out to a goalless draw against rivals Express FC at the Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

The hosts dropped points off their lead at the summit of the league table.

Goalkeeper Denis Otim who claimed the man of the match accolade. was vital as Express picked a point away from home.

A dull first half dominated mostly by the home side but they failed to find the back of the net as Express FC held their nerves high to defend as a team.

KCCA FC kept pressing from the first minute which forced Issa Lumu to be booked as early as the 11th minute of the game from a foul committed against Sadat Anaku.

Lumu was withdrawn as early as the 22nd minute when he failed to match up with the pace of KCCA FC midfielders and replaced by Deus Bukenya.

KCCA FC’s best scoring opportunity in the first half fell onto Ashraf Mugume but his well taken shot managed to hit the cross bar and went out for a goal kick in the 23rd minute.

The Express FC goalkeeper Dennis Otim kept his team in the game when he made a brilliant save to deny Sadat Anaku from close range in the 37th minute.

Express FC were gifted with an opportunity to take a first half lead but Charles Musiige missed a clear opportunity when he put his shot above the bar after a mis calculated corner by Benjamin Ochan in the 40th minute.

Express were on the recieving end but they managed to contain the game ending the first stanza on level.

In the second half of the game the Kasasiro boys resumed from where they had stopped as they pressed high which saw Herbert Achai try his effort on goal but he only managed to put it above the cross bar in the 55th minute of the game.

Mato Rodgers missed a clear cut chance for goal after a lay back cross from Anaku to set him with a keeper to beat 57th minute his effort went high above the bar. A brilliant counter run from Anaku was saved by Dennis Otim to deny KCCA the lead after a free kick from Express in in the 63rd minute.

Defender John Revita makes a brilliant defending decision to deny Martin Kiiza shooting space after a counter attack from Lwesibawa in the 79th minute.

KCCA FC missed a goal as a low volley from Anaku hit the post after beating Dennis Otim from cross by Brian Majwega in the 82nd minute of the game.

KCCA could see the back of the net as the game ended 0-0 after the full 90minutes. KCCA FC have now dropped two points and now lead the log with 28points from 12 games just two above second placed Vipers on 26 points from 11 games.

Express now sit 5th with 20points from 12 games. Both teams will now return in action on 28th as Express will host Busoga United at home in Wankulukuku, KCCA FC will travel to Arua to face Onduparaka.
