Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has included two foreign based players in the squad for upcoming international friendlies.

The two players are South African based duo of goalkeeper Ismail Watenga (Chippa United) and Moses Waiswa (SuperSport United).

Striker Patrick Kaddu, currently without a team, has also been summoned in the squad.

Eighteen (18) of the 21 players are all from the Uganda Premier League as Uganda Cranes prepares to face Mauritania and Gabon.

The two fixtures against AFCON bound teams will be played in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The first game will be against Gabon on 30th December 2021 and the second game against Mauritania on 1st January 2022.

The team departs the country on 29th December 2021 and shall return on 2nd January 2022, FUFA has confirmed.

‘‘We are assembling the Uganda Cranes team that will competitive get engaged in several upcoming engagements as the TOTAL AFCON 2013 and TOTAL CHAN 2022 qualifiers. Such international build up matches are a perfect measure for early preparations,” Micho is quoted on FUFA website.

Shaban Muhammad returns to the national team fold while youngsters Jack Komakech (Vipers) and Juma Ibrahim (KCCA) have been added as well.

Defenders: Kizito Gavin (Villa), Iguma Denis (KCCA), Kayondo Aziz (Vipers), Juma Ibrahim (KCCA), Lwaliwa Khalid (Vipers), Najib Fesali (URA), Walusimbi Enock (Express), Semakula Keneth (SC Villa)

Midfielders: Byaruhanga Bobosi (Vipers), Kakooza Mahad (Express), Waiswa Moses (Supersport United), Kizza Martin (Express)

Forwards: Kaddu Patrick (unattached), Sentamu Yunus (Vipers), Orit Ibrahim  (Vipers), Mutyaba Travis (SC Villa), Mukwala Steven (URA), Mohamed Shaban (Onduparaka)
