Preview: Express seek to close Gap at the top

Defending Champions Express FC will be targeting maximum points when they host Busoga United on Tuesday as they seek to close the gap at the top.

Sitted in the 5th position with 20 points, the Red Eagles are nine points behind current table leaders Vipers SC, who humiliated UPDF by 7-2 on Monday to move top.

Express come off a goalless draw against KCCA FC last week, in a game where they fought hard to pick a point away from home.

Back at home, head coach Wasswa Bbosa expressed the team’s readiness and admitted that they want three points to close the gap at the top.

“We have prepared very well since our previous game against KCCA in Lugogo. We have to win our game so that we can close the gap. We have worked more on the finishing since we have missed many chances in our last games. Since it’s our last game this year, we want maximum points as we target closing the gap, he said.”

This being their last game in the year, Bbosa’s charges will have no room for error and they will all go out for the needed result.

The Visitors on the other hand have had a poor run in their last league encounters, losing all the five in the process.

They lost to Arua Hill by 1-0, 5-0 to Bul FC, 4-1 to Vipers, 3-1 to Police FC before falling to SC Villa in the recent game and are currently in the red zone. This sums up how poor Busoga United have been so far this season.

Against Express FC, they face a side that has bigger ambitions of fighting for the big Prize and they will need to be at their best if they are to pick any positive result at Wankulukuku.
