*Police 5-0 Bright Stars

Gaddafi FC managed to leave Kakyeka unscathed after a 1-0 hard fought win over hosts Mbarara City in one of the two league games played on Wednesday.

Amos Kirya’s goal in the 20th minute handed Gaddafi FC their first away win of the season, having drawn four and lost twice in their previous six visits.

Kirya made an impressive run leaving Mbarara City defence chasing shadows before finishing neatly past goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba.

Mbarara City will rue missed chances especially in the second half and coach Hussein Mbalangu cut a distraught figure at fulltime.

The Ankole Lions’ late rally went unrewarded and will feel unlucky after Seiri Arigumaho rattled the crossbar from close range when set by Jude Ssemugabi.

Seiri also had a goal correctly ruled out after he put the ball in Paul Mujapani’s net with his left arm.

The results helps Gaddafi improve to 9th place with 17 points while Mbarara City remain 11th with 14 points.
