Police FC registered their third consecutive win thanks to a 5-0 victory over struggling Bright Stars at Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

Goals from Juma Balinya, Herman Wasswa, Eric Senjobe, Muwadda Mawejje and Emmanuel Mugume were enough as Abdallah Mubiru returned to the dug out.

Police FC dominated the first stanza of the game in the hot sunny conditions in Lugogo as they took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Bright stars FC failed to cope up with the high pressing midfield of Police FC dominated by the partnership of skipper Tonny Mawejje and Missi Diego.

The cops took an early lead as Mawejje played a one-two with Kapampa to set through Juma Balinya who put the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of the game.

Police FC kept dominating the midfielder forcing Bright Stars back line into mistakes and their efforts were awarded as Muwadda doubled their lead in the 18th minute assisted by Tonny Mawejje.

The cops had another chance for goal but a brilliant header from Balinya was pounded away for a corner by Simon Tamale in the 20th minute.

Bright Stars chance for goal came in the 25th minute of the game but their captain Nelson Senkatuka was ruled for offside.

An early substitution saw Pius Kaggwa come out for Angu in the 35th minute. Striker Angu put in much effort but he missed a close range effort to score for Bright stars as his shot went wide off a Kushida lay off.

The Kops held onto their nerves as they defended brilliantly to take a half time break in a comfortable 2-0 lead.

In the second stanza, Bright Stars made a double substitution bringing in Nvule Jamil and Augustine Kacancu who improved on their midfield as they dominated the second stanza.

Police FC were put on the back foot and in the 50th minute they almost conceded from a Ssenkatuka freekick but Ikara paved it away for a corner.

Bright stars kept pushing as Joseph Sentume defended brilliantly to block a shot for Joseph Janjali in the 52nd minute.

Police FC resorted to a counter attacking football and it paid off with corners, in the 65th minute Eric Senjobe heade in a corner from Ruben Kimera for 3-0 score.

Simon Tamale saved a Mawejje rebound after saving a cross from Herman Wasswa to deny the fourth in the 68th minute.

The kops counter attacking Style and long balls was the solution to Bright stars brilliant defending and Herman Wasswa scored a beauty chest goal off a Ruben Kimera long cross for the fourth goal in the 74th minute.

Herman Wasswa later set up Mugume in the 92nd minute as they completed a 5-0 scoreline to claim the three points on home ground.

Police FC has now moved to 12 points on the log.
