Preview: Vipers Seek To Maintain Place on Summit
Vipers SC will be hoping for maximum points so that they remain on top of the log when they face hosts Arua Hill in a league game at Barifa stadium.
The Venoms ended the year 2021 on top following their 7-1 drubbing of UPDF, to leapfrog KCCA FC whose game with Onduparaka was abandoned over fans trouble.
Coach Roberto Oliveira is expected to name the same lineup that beat UPDF save for Emmanuel Munobi who will be paving way for the experienced Paul Willa at the right side of defence.
The Venoms were near perfect against UPDF but will be aware that Arua Hill will pose a much stronger challenge given that they are playing at home and have some quality in their squad.
The Venoms have to bank on their attack line of Caesar Manzoki and Yunus Sentamu but they must be well fed by Bright Anukani, Milton Karisa and Bobosi Byaruhanga to have an impact.
The hosts come into the game on the back of a humiliating 4-0 loss to BUL FC and will be hoping to return to winning ways.
That was their heaviest defeat this season and the first time they have conceded 4 goals since promotion.
They have failed to win a home game thrice – They lost to KCCA FC and drawing against Onduparaka and SC Villa.
Alfred Leku and Rashid Toha will be facing their former team and will have a point to prove when the game gets underway at 3pm.
