The soldier boys of Gaddafi FC needed a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with URA FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier League match played at the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja.

URA, put up through a brilliant header from Steven Mukwala, were on course for a hard fought win before Yunus Sibira scored a late leveller for Gaddafi FC.

The soldier boys had an early chance for goal in the first stanza of the game but Sula Mpanga failed to convert from the penalty spot after a foul on Muwawu Faisal by Najib Fesali in the 4th minute.

Gaddafi kept pilling pressure on URA FC but Nafian Allionzi was the man to beat as he saved a beautiful taken Hasan Musana freekick in the 13th minute.

URA FC got their chance for goal in the 20th minute but they couldn’t break the dead lock as a powerful Benjamin Nyakoojo header was parried away by Mutebi Ronald for a corner.

Moments later Benjamin Nyakoojo couldn’t complete the game and was forced out due to injury and replaced by Katongole Faruku.

The first stanza came to an end as both sides failed to see the back of the net.

The tax collectors came back for second geared to turn their missed efforts into goals attacking from the first minute.

In the 50th minute a Cromwell Rwothomio shot was saved by Mutebi Ronald as he kept Gaddafi in the game.

In the 75th minute Steven Desse Mukwala put the visitors of URA FC ahead as he headed in a perfectly well taken cross from the skipper Shafic Kagimu.

In the 80th minute Shafic Kagimu’s shot was saved by Mutebi Ronald as he tip toes it to hit the wood work.

With just minutes to the final whistle, blowing n the 90th minute Sibira Yunus headed in a freekick from Hassan Musana to secure a point for the soldier boys.

Sibira Yunus was voted the man of the match for his brilliant display in the game.

URA FC has now registered it’s seventh draw in just 12 games played and now sit in the 7th position with 19 points, one point above Gaddafi FC who have 18 points in the 8th position on the log.
