After conducting the 2021/22 Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 draws on Monday, FUFA Competitions Director Hajjat Aisha Nalule emphasized that all hosting teams must have a whole green playing surface .
Nalule said that green turf is a must and a number one requirement to host games as far as club licensing requirement is concerned.
The conducted draw saw 32 teams of the regional league out of the qualified 37 taking the entire hosting privilege of the matches of this round to be played between 18th- 31st January 2022.
“We seeded both StarTimes Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League teams as the visiting teams to also give regional league clubs a chance” stated Nalule.
“But the number one thing as a basic, all hosting teams must play on green pitches as a requirement, be it natural or artificial, the turf must be green.”
“The round of 64 will be played on a one-leg basis. In case of a draw in normal time, the games will be decided on penalty shootouts. There shall not be extra time.”
Holders Vipers SC will start their title defence with a trip to face Kigezi HomeBoyz FC.
