SC Villa are set to confirm the signing of old gun Saddam Juma and a couple of other fringe players before the start of the second round.

Juma has been without a club since ending his stay at KCCA FC in 2020!

The former Vipers and Express midfielder has been training with SC Villa at Uganda Martyrs Rubaga.

Martin Opolot (Emmanuel Okwi’s brother), Martin Arinaitwe Chicharito (Tooro United) and some players from Masaza Cup have been seen at the club’s training ground as well.

The Club is rumoured to have also joined the race to acquire goalkeeper Robert Odongkara.

With no marquee signing expected to join the Jogoos in January, many fans will feel hard done by the club administration for not ‘backing’ their Greek coach Petros Koukouras.

Villa will return to action later this month against Super Eagles in Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 tie at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

They finished the first round a lowly 11th place with 16 points from 14 games and it promises to be another difficult season for the record league winners.
