The FUFA Competitions department has rescheduled SC Villa’s round of 64 Stanbic Uganda Cup game against hosts Super Eagles.
Sc Villa, who were set to face the third division side at Pece War memorial stadium on Sunday, were involved in an accident enroute to Gulu for the said contest.
It was reported that the bus suffered a tyre blowout at Mijeera (Nakasongola), along Kampala-Gulu highway.
Some players like new signing Sadam Juma and coaches suffered minor injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Following the sudden incidents, the federation has come out and postponed the said game to a later date that will be communicated.
“It is on a sad note that we have received information about SC Villa players and officials being involved in a horrible road accident involving the bus on it’s way to Gulu for a Stanbic Uganda Cup match slated on Sunday 20th February 2022 at Pece War Memorial Stadium.
“In light of the above, we inform you that the above match has been postponed until further notice,” reads part of the statement from Fufa.
Since then, the team has returned to Kampala and some injured members will be referred to St. Francis hospital for further treatment.
The tie between SC Villa and Super Eagles is one of the pending round of 64 Uganda Cup games that are yet to be played.
The other game is between Kigezi home Boyz and Vipers that is scheduled to take place on 21st February this week on Monday.
If SC Villa negotiate past Super Eagles, they will face Express FC who have already sealed a place at the round of 32.
