Wakiso Giants Versatile player Moses Aliro was named the inaugural Lango Best player of the month.
He beat KCCA defender Herbert Achai, Blacks Power’s Acire John Paul, Dickens Otim of Sport-S Volleyball club and Ndejje University Volleyball Club Women’s Jillian Acheng.
The award that is organised by the Lango Sports Press Association (LASPA) started in February and Aliro becomes the first player to win the Accolade.
Aliro played three league games for Wakiso Giants in February with two goals both against Gadaffi FC, they won one and lost two matches. They sit 7th on the log with 27 points.
He has helped his side to a 5-2 demolition of Kyetume in the Uganda Cup to progress to the Round of 16.
According to the organisers, 70% of the votes are decided by the Sports Journalists while 30% from the fans.
Moses Aliro won with 41% votes, Jillian Acheng collected 23%, Acire John Paul had 14%, Herbert Achai picked 12% and Dickens Otim with 10%.
