Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi has named his starting XI to face Uganda Cranes in the first game of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.
Striker Islam Slimani who plies his trade with Sporting Lisbon, will shoulder the scoring burden.
Moustapha Zeghba beats Rais M’Bohli for a starting place in goal.
Waalwijk defender Ahmed Taouba is at left back while Mochengladbach’s Rammy Bensebaini is also in the defence.
Ramiz Zerrouki of FC Twente and AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer will be in the middle of the park.
Rachid Ghezzal (Besiktas) and Youcef Belaïli (Brest) have been included in the starting XI.
Coach Djamel said that he will not take Uganda for granted. “There is no longer a small country in Africa and Uganda has not conceded many goals in the past and so it’s going to be a tough game.”
