Uganda’s national beach soccer team, the Sand Cranes, proved too good for Mauritius with a 9-2 hauling.

Coach Angelo Schirinzi’s charges have booked their place into the semis after recording their second win from as many games.

The side who beat Tanzania 4-2 in the opener, will face Egypt in the last group game and will be targeting top spot to possibly avoid giants Senegal.

Ambrose Kigozi scored a hat-trick to take his tournament to give goals on Monday.

Ashraf Apuuli scored a double while a goal each from Isma Kawawulo, Brian Nkuubi Baker Lukooya and Joshua Lubwama handed Cranes a deserved win.

The Sand Cranes are using the tournament to prepare for the second straight appearance at the AFCON Beach Soccer tournament in Mozambique next month.
