The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has approved a budget of UGX 37,187,219,000 for the financial year 2024.

This decision was made during the 99th FUFA Ordinary General Assembly held at Hotel Africana in Moroto on a Saturday.

Notably, this budget marks an increase from the UGX 36 billion allocated in the previous year’s AGM held in Gulu.

This financial plan will encompass expenditures across 10 key areas, with the lion’s share of UGX 11,422,800,000 allocated to the National teams.

The other areas covered by the budget include Governance, Administration, Football Development, Competitions, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Infrastructure, and Stakeholders.

FUFA aims to secure these funds from various sources, including FIFA, CAF, the Government, and sponsorships.

Additionally, FUFA hopes to generate income through Registration and other fees, Gate Collections, and Merchandise Sales.

Annually, the Government provides FUFA with UGX 17 billion.

This passed budget will fund activities from January 1 to December 31, 2024.

Furthermore, the audited financial statement for the year 2022 was officially approved and will be shared with FIFA, CAF, and the Government.

According to FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, this document accurately reflects FUFA’s financial statement and performance for 2022.

Watson also disclosed that FUFA will soon launch a Technical Plan focusing on various aspects of the sport, including mass football initiatives to impact every household.

This plan will guide FUFA in supporting ex-internationals, developing human capacity in coaching and refereeing, among other areas.

In addition to these developments, FUFA President Moses Magogo presented three Presidential Awards to high-profile football personalities from the North East Region, recognizing their significant contributions to the sport.

The recipients of these awards were Ben Omoding, a former FUFA President and Uganda Cranes coach; Cherotwo Bk Asuf, Chairperson of Kapchorwa DFA; and Nelson Anying, a District Sports Officer in Moroto District.
