Gomba will vie for their sixth Masaza Cup title as they face Bulemeezi in the upcoming final at Wankulukuku on Saturday.

During the match held in Masaka, Gomba secured a 1-0 victory over Buddu in the return leg, with young talent Keneth Kimera scoring the crucial goal. This win ensured Gomba’s progression to the finals with a 3-1 aggregate score.

Having claimed this championship five times, Gomba marks their 9th final appearance, with their previous victory in 2020 against Buddu.

Their initial triumph came in 2004, followed by wins against Mawogola and Ssingo in the 2009 and 2014 final shootouts, respectively, and victories over Ssingo in 2017 and Buddu in 2020.

They faced defeats in the finals of 2007, 2008, and 2016.

Bulemeezi, on the other hand, has clinched the title twice, in the 2012 final against Buwekula and in 2019 against Busiro.

Bulemeezi advanced by defeating Mawokota in shootouts, claiming a 4-2 victory at Kasana Luwero, with Joseph Kayondo and Denis Konde missing their penalty kicks for Mawokota.

However, Gomba will face the final without their suspended head coach, Felix Ssekabuza, providing an opportunity for Ibrahim Kirya to lead Bulemeezi.
