Preview: Arua Hill hunting for maiden win

Arua Hill aims to secure their first win of the season when they host UPDF FC in the Uganda Premier League at the Paridi Ground.

The team has only managed to earn one point in the opening seven matches, a 1-1 draw with KCCA FC at the Paridi Ground. They faced defeats against Busoga United, Vipers, Mbarara City, BUL FC, Gaddafi FC, and SC Villa.

Livingston Mbabazi’s side has been winless at the Paridi Ground in four attempts, suffering losses to Busoga United, BUL FC, and Gaddafi FC at home, with a draw against KCCA FC.

However, they’ve won both games against UPDF FC at their former ground, Barifa.

Arua Hill has lost six of their last seven matches in the Uganda Premier League, managing only a draw. Their last victory was a 1-0 win over Wakiso Giants at Barifa Ground on May 27th last season.

In their recent encounter, Arua Hill suffered a 3-1 defeat against SC Villa at Wankulukuku, with Frank Kalanda scoring their only goal.

Facing a resurgent UPDF FC, who have improved after a slow start, Arua Hill anticipates a challenging match.

UPDF FC remains unbeaten in their last three matches, triumphing over BUL FC and Busoga United, and securing a draw against Express.

Pius Ngabo’s side enters this game after an impressive 2-0 victory over leaders BUL FC at the Bombo Barracks Ground, courtesy of goals from Bernard Muwanga and Sam Kintu.

UPDF FC aims to compound Arua Hill’s struggles as they target their first win at the Kongolo. Last season, both teams won on their home grounds.

At Barifa Ground, Rashid Toha, Gadafi Kacancu, and Gadafi Wahab inspired Arua Hill to a 3-0 victory in the first round. Meanwhile, at the Bombo Barracks Ground, Samson Kasozi, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, and Nsimbe Jibril Badru scored as Arua Hill succumbed to a 3-1 defeat, despite an early lead from Jacob Kamwesiga.

Former Arua Hill players Robert Eseru and Vuni Bright Joseph, now with UPDF FC, will seek to make an impact against their former club.
