*Arua Hill 2-0 UPDF
*Busoga United 2-1 KCCA
*Express 0-1 Maroons
Arua Hill held on to defeat UPDF FC for their first win of the Uganda Premier League season at the Paridi Ground in Adjumani.
Rashid Kawawa and Gadafi Wahab propelled the hosts to a convincing 2-0 triumph.
This victory marks an end to Kongolo’s winless start to the season, having previously earned only one point in seven matches while losing the remaining six.
It’s also Arua Hill’s inaugural victory since moving to the Paridi Ground after experiencing three defeats in four matches in Adjumani, securing their first clean sheet as well.
Despite off-field struggles both financial and administrative, Kongolo defied the odds and emerged victorious.
Kawawa broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, while Wahab extended the hosts’ lead in the 68th minute, dampening the visitors’ hopes of an equalizer.
UPDF FC remains without a win against Arua Hill on the road, suffering defeat in all three visits.
The Army side has now suffered their fourth loss of the campaign.
Despite the win, Arua Hill remains at the bottom of the table with four points after eight matches, while UPDF FC drops to 11th place with eight points.
Both teams will return to action on Thursday, 30th. Arua Hill will travel to Kavumba Recreation Ground to face Bright Stars, while UPDF FC will host Vipers at the Bombo Barracks Ground.
