Kitara bounced back to their winning form with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against NEC in a league match held in Masindi.

Jude Ssemugabi secured the lone goal, seizing a chance just before halftime off a cross from Jasper Aheebwa from the left flank, leaving goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima helpless.

Despite Kitara’s dominance, they missed several opportunities and could have secured a more convincing win.

Solomon Okwalinga missed a clear chance, while NEC’s goalkeeper, Samson Kiirya, made crucial saves, including denying Denis Omedi in a one-on-one situation.

NEC came close to equalizing through Enock Ssebagala, but his effort hit the woodwork in the latter stages of the game.

This win ended Kitara’s three-game winless streak, propelling them to 16 points and third place, level with NEC in fourth.

Up next, Kitara faces Vipers at Kitende on December 7, while NEC hosts URA at Lugogo a day earlier.
