The Uganda National Women’s football team, the Crested Cranes, is scheduled for their second friendly match against Morocco under the guidance of the newly appointed head coach, Sherly Botes.
Following a riveting 1-1 draw last Friday at Pere Jego Stadium in Morocco, the teams are set to clash again this Tuesday.
The initial encounter witnessed Captain Fauziah Najjemba’s remarkable conversion from the penalty spot in the eighth minute, propelling Uganda to a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Noteworthy was goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro’s pivotal save of Ghizale Chebbak’s penalty, preserving Uganda’s advantage before the break.
However, the equilibrium was disrupted when Nahla Elodie Nakkach secured Morocco’s equalizer in the 65th minute, leading to the match concluding on equal terms.
The anticipation mounts as the teams prepare for their upcoming fixture this Friday at Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat.
This match is Botes’ second game at the helm of Uganda’s National Women’s football team.
